Join us on 5 and 6 September for the festive opening of the new entrance to the Van Gogh Museum. Get inspiration in the labyrinth of 125,000 'Sunrich Orange' sunflowers on Museumplein.

We are celebrating the opening of the new entrance in festive style on 5 and 6 September with 125,000 sunflowers on Museumplein.
To mark the opening, a spectacular sunflower labyrinth has been created on Museumplein. The sunflower labyrinth is open to visitors free of charge all weekend from 9 am to 5 pm.

Programme

Saturday 5 September & Sunday 6 September

• On the photo deck on Museumplein, you have a wonderful view over the sunflower labyrinth and you can take the most spectacular selfie with 125,000 sunflowers and the Van Gogh Museum in the background.
• Then walk through the labyrinth and discover the three special Van Gogh inspiration rooms: one room with a collage of Van Gogh fan art, a room with photos of the whole construction process and one with singer-songwriters who will give an exclusive performance every hour with numbers written specially for this event inspired by Van Gogh.

Collect your sunflower!

Sunday 6 September
On Sunday 6 September, you can enjoy the above programme all day. Between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm, staff from the museum will be handing out free sunflowers from the labyrinth.
Come and collect your Sunrich Orange sunflower at the end of the event and help us gradually dismantle the sunflower labyrinth! (As long as they last!)

The sunflower labyrinth is open to visitors free of charge on Saturday and Sunday. You enter the labyrinth via the special entrance, near the photo deck on Museumplein.

Accessibility of the labyrinth

Unfortunately, due to the subfloor, the labyrinth is not easily accessible for users of wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
