France's WEST tokamak just smashed the world record by keeping superheated hydrogen plasma stable for 1,337 seconds — over 22 minutes. That's the kind of persistence fusion needs to become the ultimate energy source: the power of a star, controlled on Earth.
Fusion works by slamming hydrogen atoms together so hard they merge, releasing enormous energy — the same reaction that powers the Sun.
