Purmerendse Melkwegbrug weer in de spotlights

PURMEREND - De Engelse krant The Guardian heeft een lijstje gemaakt met bijzondere fietsbruggen. Uiteraard zitten daar Nederlandse exemplaren bij, hoe kan het ook anders in een land vol water en fietsers. De Purmerendse Melkwegbrug wordt ook genoemd.
Je houdt van de brug of je haat hem, zo lijkt het te zijn. Bij de oplevering van de brug was er veel kritiek, de brug werd te hoog en te duur bevonden. Ook het ontwerp werd niet door iedereen gewaardeerd.
Toch lijkt het tij wat te keren. Vorig jaar was er al interesse vanuit Koeweit voor de brug die Weidevenne met Purmerend verbindt. Eerder spotte Purmerend Dichtbij al verschillende slotjes aan de brug. Niet alleen qua architectuur een bijzondere brug, maar kennelijk ook een 'liefdesbrug' in wording.

PURMEREND - De Melkwegbrug in Purmerend blijft een populaire plek om een liefdesslotje te hangen. Haico Kats stuurde ons, met toestemming van het paartje, deze mooie foto's.
Afgelopen vrijdag hebben de twee onder het genot van een glaasje champagne op elkaar getoost en een slotje aan het hek van de brug bevestigd. Hij die uit Oostenrijk (Tirol) komt en zij uit Nederland moesten erg lachen toen ze door de fotograaf werden aangesproken dat hij hun op de gevoelige plaat had vastgelegd.
