You won’t see Wendy’s restaurants across Europe - and it’s not what you think! A small fish and chip shop in the Dutch town of Goes owns the rights to the name “Wendy’s” in the EU.

The American fast-food giant has been trying to challenge it in court since 2000, but Dutch courts keep ruling in favor of the local snack bar, which was named after the owner’s daughter.

Sometimes the little guys really do beat the big corporations!
