Romania is building a $1 billion Dracula Theme Park

Romania is stepping into the global spotlight with an ambitious tourism venture as Dracula Land moves closer to becoming a reality near Bucharest. Planned as a billion-euro mega resort, the project draws inspiration from Transylvanian legends, Gothic folklore, and the enduring myth of Dracula—one of the most recognizable figures in European storytelling. With an anticipated opening between 2026 and 2027, the destination aims to position Romania as a major theme-park hub in Eastern Europe.
Dracula Land is envisioned as a large-scale entertainment complex featuring multiple themed zones, each designed to immerse visitors in dark fantasy, medieval history, and supernatural lore. Plans include towering Gothic castles, atmospheric dark rides, high-speed roller coasters, and interactive attractions that blend myth with cutting-edge theme park technology. Beyond rides, the resort is expected to offer themed hotels, a water park, spa and wellness facilities, live entertainment arenas, restaurants, and retail spaces designed to enhance the full experience.
The project’s creators hope Dracula Land will attract millions of international tourists, boost Romania’s tourism economy, and reintroduce Transylvania’s legends in a modern, family-friendly format. By combining history, folklore, and contemporary entertainment design, the resort seeks to turn ancient myths into a globally competitive attraction.
If completed as planned, Dracula Land could redefine Romania’s image on the world tourism map—transforming legendary stories into an immersive destination where myth meets modern imagination.
