Jackie Chan intends to Donate his entire $400 million Wealth to Charity

Jackie Chan, the internationally renowned martial artist and actor, revealed in an interview and reiterated in later statements that he does not plan to leave his vast fortune—estimated to be around $350 to $400 million—to his son, Jaycee Chan.
Chan stated that if his son is capable, he can make his own money, and if not, then he would only squander the wealth.
Instead, Chan announced that he intends to donate his entire fortune to charity.
He is a known philanthropist and has supported numerous charitable causes over the decades, including education, disaster relief, and conservation efforts.
He established the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation in 1988 and has been active in using his platform to assist disadvantaged communities.
This position reflects Chan’s beliefs in self-reliance and discipline.
His son, Jaycee, has also been involved in controversies, including a 2014 arrest for drug offenses in China, which might have reinforced Chan's commitment to not handing over unearned wealth.
However, Chan clarified that his decision was rooted more in principle than in punishment.
This view aligns with a growing trend among wealthy individuals globally—such as Warren Buffett and Bill Gates—who choose to donate most of their wealth to philanthropic causes rather than passing it down as inheritance.
