Hôm qua 22/05/2013, tại Woolwich, ngoại ô Luân Đôn, hai người đàn ông dùng dao và dao phay giết chết một quân nhân ngay gần doanh trại. Sau khi hành động, họ không bỏ chạy mà ở lại để cho người qua đường quay phim, trước khi bị cảnh sát câu lưu.
Thủ tướng Anh, đang công du ở Pháp, phải trở về nước khẩn cấp, chủ trì cuộc họp của ngành an ninh để giải quyết vụ việc. Nhiều phương tiện truyền thông nước Anh cố gắng trấn an dư luận sau vụ giết người gây chấn động và tránh dùng chữ « khủng bố » trên hàng tít chính.
Thông tín viên Lê Hải tường trình từ Luân Đôn, Toàn bộ khu vực ngã tư trung tâm ở quận Woolwich ở phía đông London tiếp tục bị cảnh sát phong tỏa sau vụ giết người gây chấn động hồi trưa hôm qua. Theo lời kể của các nhân chứng trên báo chí thì hai người đàn ông đã chém chết một binh sĩ Anh trên đường về doanh trại ở gần đó. Sau khi gây ra án mạng họ không bỏ trốn mà đứng lại cho người đi đường quay phim chụp ảnh bằng điện thoại cầm tay, và tuyên truyền những lời lẽ được coi là kích động khủng bố. Thủ tướng David Cameron đang công du ở Pháp đã phải ngay lập tức quay về chủ trì cuộc họp an ninh Cobra, với sự có mặt lãnh đạo cơ quan tình báo nội địa MI5, để xử lý tình hình. Hiện các hàng tít chính trên báo chí sáng nay nói về một vụ giết người, nhưng chữ khủng bố tràn ngập trong nội dung và các lời bình luận. Sở cảnh sát London cho biết vụ án đang được ban chuyên án về chống khủng bố phụ trách điều tra. Trước hết, quận Woolwich là khu vực nghèo đang được đầu tư phát triển từ sau Olympic London 2012, nơi trước đây chủ yếu là kho xưởng và đất hoang thường bị nước sông Thames tràn vào. Nơi đây tập trung khá nhiều dân nhập cư và có một cộng đồng người Việt khoảng chừng 5.000 người, cũng như rất nhiều sắc dân da đen khác nhau, chiếm đa số trên các chuyến xe buýt qua lại khu chợ ở trung tâm quận. Địa điểm xảy ra vụ án mạng nằm giữa đoạn đường từ khu trung tâm về doanh trại của pháo thủ kỵ binh hoàng gia và cũng là một đoạn đường có nhiều người qua lại. Các nhân chứng kể lại là vào khoảng 2 giờ 20 chiều thứ Tư có một binh sĩ bị hai người đàn ông da đen tấn công bằng dao và dao phay chặt thịt, tay đầy máu. Trong vòng 20 phút kể từ thời điểm xảy ra vụ việc cho đến khi cảnh sát đến thì hai người này tiếp tục đi quanh quẩn tại hiện trường và sau đó bị cảnh sát bắn bị thương và đưa vào hai bệnh viện khác nhau để điều trị và thẩm vấn. Nạn nhân được xác nhận là đã chết với vết thương trên cổ. Theo nội dung những đoạn video quay bằng điện thoại cầm tay mà các đài truyền hình đã mua lại và phát đi sau đó thì các nghi can sử dụng tiếng Anh chuẩn của dân London để giải thích tại sao họ đã hành động như vậy, nhắc đến thánh Allah, tôn chỉ jihad (thánh chiến) của Hồi giáo, và họ giết chết binh sĩ Anh là để "trả thù". Thủ tướng Anh cũng kêu gọi người dân thủ đô hãy sống bình thường, vì đó là một trong số những cách tốt nhất để chiến thắng khủng bố. Một loạt các lãnh đạo đã xuất hiện trên truyền hình để tăng cường hình ảnh của chính quyền. Thị trưởng London Boris Johnson vừa có mặt ở hiện trường bên cạnh lãnh đạo cảnh sát thủ đô. Nữ hoàng cũng tuyên bố sẽ đến thăm khu doanh trại vào tuần sau theo đúng lịch đã định. Các lãnh đạo tôn giáo cũng lên án khủng bố, và nhiều người dân ở Woolwich đến đặt vòng hoa ở hiện trường. Riêng tờ báo Telegraph không ngại dùng chữ khủng bố để mô tả vụ giết người man rợ, mà theo họ là giống như tài liệu hướng dẫn của al-Qaeda, chặt đầu binh sĩ Anh để trả thù. Có lẽ đó là điều khiến toàn Luân Đôn bị chấn động và sẽ tiếp tục suy nghĩ trong những ngày tới.

Twee mannen zouden een militair hebben aangevallen in Woolwich in het zuidoosten van Londen. Ze gingen daarbij volgens een getuige „als beesten” te keer. De militair zou volgens Britse media zijn onthoofd en dus overleden.
De politie schoot de aanvallers neer. De daders zijn naar het ziekenhuis gebracht. Een van hen is volgens medische bronnen in zorgwekkende toestand. Eén van de daders is mogelijk afkomstig uit Nigeria, zo meldt BBC News. Terreuraanval
De Britse nieuwszender Sky News meldde op basis van bronnen dat het mogelijk gaat om een „politiek gemotiveerde islamistische terreuraanval”. Ook de Londense burgemeester Boris Johnson noemde dit „overweldigend waarschijnlijk”. De aanvallers zouden 'Allahu Akbar' (God is groot) hebben geroepen tijdens de moordpartij.
Bronnen berichten tegenover Sky News dat de aanvallers elkaar filmden tijdens de aanslag. De politie vond op het plaats delict meerdere wapens, waaronder een vuurwapen.
Op de grond liggen grote plassen bloed. Het slachtoffer zou een shirt hebben gedragen met daarop de tekst 'Help for Heroes'. Auto ramde slachtoffer
Voorafgaand aan de slachting knalden de daders met een auto tegen het slachtoffer. Getuige Luke Huseyin tegen The Sun: "Ik was thuis en hoorde een harde knal. Ik keek uit het raam en zag dat een auto was gecrasht. Toen stapten twee zwarte mannen uit de auto en sleepten ze een blanke jongen over de straat." Twintig minuten
Twintig minuten lang wachtten de daders op de politie, ze deden geen poging om te vluchten. Toen de agenten arriveerden probeerden de daders hen aan te vallen. De politie wist de twee mannen op tijd neer te schieten. 'Ze dumpten zijn lichaam'
Een emotionele ooggetuige beschrijft gruwelijke details over de aanval. In eerste instantie dacht James dat de mannen het slachtoffer wilden helpen, maar wat volgde was luid geschreeuw en de mannen die inhakten op het slachtoffer. "Ze sleepten hem van de stoep en dumpten zijn lichaam in het midden van de straat en lieten het lichaam daar liggen." Na de slachtpartij bleven de twee aanvallers rondhangen. "Ze zwaaiden met hun messen en een vuurwapen en vroegen omstanders zelfs foto's van hen te nemen 'alsof ze op televisie wilden of zoiets." Dader: nooit veilig
Op Britse media dook later op de dag een video op die zou zijn gemaakt door een omstander. Het filmpje toont een van de aanvallers vlak na de aanslag. De man heeft een kapmes en slagersmes in zijn handen, die onder het bloed zitten. Hij stapt recht op de camera af en zegt: „Het spijt ons dat vrouwen dit vandaag moesten zien, maar in ons land maken vrouwen hetzelfde mee. Jullie zullen nooit veilig zijn. Jullie moeten de regering afzetten. Ze geven niet om jullie.” De Britse Moslimraad veroordeelde de aanval. „Dit is echt een barbaarse daad die geen basis in de islam heeft en wij veroordelen dit zonder enig voorbehoud”, aldus de raad in een verklaring. Een crisiscomité van de Britse regering heeft een spoedbijeenkomst aangekondigd. De Britse premier David Cameron noemde de aanval op Twitter „zeer schokkend”. De premier is op weg naar Parijs maar heeft voor later deze avond een persconferentie aangekondigd.
Volgens Sky News zal hij eerder dan gepland terug keren van zijn bezoek aan Parijs. De Minister van Binnenlandse Zaken Theresa May is bijgepraat door het hoofd van de binnenlandse veiligheidsdienst MI5. Ze heeft het over een „ziekmakend en barbaars incident”.

LONDEN - Er zijn nieuwe beelden opgedoken van vlak na de brute machetemoord in de Londense wijk Woolwich. Op de schokkende video is te zien hoe de twee moslimterroristen door de politie worden neergeschoten.
Michael Adeboloja (28) en Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale (22) hadden even daarvoor op beestachtige wijze de 25-jarige militair Lee Rigby afgeslacht. Toen de politie ter plaatse kwam, rende Adeboloja schreeuwend met een mes op de agenten af. Op de beelden is te zien hoe hij vervolgens met meerdere kogels worden neergeschoten. Ook mededader Adebowale, die een pistool op de politie richtte, wordt neergehaald. Beiden raken zwaargewond en liggen nog in het ziekenhuis. Hun toestand is inmiddels stabiel. As carnage unfolded on a busy street in Woolwich, one brave woman faced down the killers.
She calmly asked the two men brandishing knifes and cleavers if she could tend to the decapitated victim.
“Let me comfort him,” she pleaded.
The crazed attackers, blood dripping from their hands, shouted that no man could pass before allowing her to kneel beside the headless corpse, where she appeared to pray for him.
Other shocked witnesses told how the victim was butchered by the pair, who seemed oblivious to passers-by.
The horror unfolded in John Wilson Street, Woolwich, South East London at 2.20pm.
After 20 minutes of carnage, armed police arrived and shot the maniacs, leaving a blood-soaked scene littered with weapons.
Witness Joe Tallant, 20, described how the woman, in her 50s, approached the men without fear.
He said last night: “She is a very religious woman. She saw everything and wanted to comfort the man.
“She just walked straight up to them with no fear. She put her hands on his chest and I think she prayed for him. The poor man’s head was beside her.” Smash: The car used by terrorists with trail of blood

Joe was in a nearby shop when he heard shots. He went outside to find the men hacking off the soldier’s head.
He said: “The police took so long to arrive. The man was dead on the floor and they were waiting for the police. They had knives, a machete and a gun. They were shouting really crazy stuff.
“When the armed police arrived they started walking towards them. A female officer was out of the car in a flash and just shot them.”
James Heneghan told how he was driving his girlfriend to work when he turned into the street and saw a blue Vauxhall car crashed into a sign.
“To the left of the car there were two guys with what we now know to be the victim on the floor, we thought they were trying to help him or they’d been involved in a crash,” he said.
“My partner let out an almighty scream, we saw clearly two knives.
"One was a meat-cleaver like what you use at the butcher. They were hacking at the poor guy, literally.
“My partner jumped out of the car and shouted, I jumped out as well.
“One of the black men went into the crashed car, got into the front and pulled out a bag – he pointed a gun.
“He shouted at my partner, ‘Get in the car, get in the car’. He was waving this gun around. I then moved the car down the road and called 999.
“These two guys were crazed, they were not there, they were animals. They then dragged the poor guy, he was obviously dead, they dragged him from the pavement and dumped his body in the road.
“They then went back to the path, they’re standing there with the knife in hand, waving the gun about. I was on the phone to the police saying, ‘You need to get someone here, where are they?’.”
James said a crowd gathered as the first police arrived and waited for armed support. He said people got out of their cars and told the pair to stop, but they continued to wave their weapons.
James added: “They were running up and down the road, urging people to take pictures. Even the guy with the gun, a tall guy with a beanie cap on. Then a bus pulled up, he walked over to the bus and was asking people to take his photo.
“He was standing there saying, ‘Take photos of me’, as if he wanted to be on TV – he was proud of what he’d done to this poor guy. The guy was only young, he had a Help for Heroes T-shirt on.
“They had opportunities to run off, but they were waiting for something.
“And it turns out they were waiting for the armed police to arrive because as soon as the police come flying around the corner the man with the beanie hat charged at the police response vehicle.
“A shot was fired by the other guy with the gun, next thing we know the police run out and, if I’m not mistaken, six shots were fired and both men went down.
“It’s horrendous to see that in broad daylight. It was like a horror movie.”
Luke Huseyin, 32, lives in flats overlooking the scene, close to Woolwich barracks and next to a school. He saw the horror after hearing a car crash.
He said: “Two black guys got out of the car dragging a white guy across the road. One of the guys had a knife that looked about a foot long and a machete and the other bloke had a gun.
“They started slashing him up with the knife and hitting him in the stomach with the machete. I don’t think it took long before he was dead.

Julia and Graham Wilders were returning to their home nearby when they saw the attack.
Mum-of-four Julia, 51, said: “There were two black guys that looked like they were trying to resuscitate a white guy on the floor. But then I saw they were using meat cleavers to hack him up.”
Graham, 50, added: “My nine-year-old son Steven goes to Mulgrave school which is right by where this was happening and all I could think about was that it was home time and he would be walking down here soon.
"I saw a load of kids come out of the school gates and I just yelled at them to get back.
"I ran up to the school shouting there’s a gunman and to get everybody inside. The headmaster came out and they closed the school gate and kept everyone in.
“That was when I heard four shots. I can’t believe this has happened. But it could’ve been so much worse, those kids were just feet from the gunmen.”
Another witness, musician Jamie France, 29, claimed one of the attackers was preaching in Woolwich town centre last week.
He said: “I spoke to my mum and showed her the video footage from the internet, and she told me she recognised one of the men with the knife.
“She said she’d seen him last week preaching. She said she remembers him because he’d been really angry and was saying all this political stuff.”

LONDEN - Vanuit de hele wereld is er lof voor de omstander die de daders van de brute machetemoord in Londen probeerde te kalmeren. De 48-jarige Ingrid Loyau-Kennett, moeder van twee kinderen en scoutingleidster, was als een van de eersten ter plaatse na de afgrijselijke terreurdaad. Ze wilde zich aanvankelijk ontfermen over het slachtoffer, maar toen ze zag dat hulp geen zin meer had, richtte ze zich tot een van de daders.
,,Ik dacht: ik kan hem beter aanspreken voordat hij nog iemand aanvalt. Deze mensen hebben meestal een boodschap, dus ik vroeg: wat wil je?'', vertelde ze naderhand. ,,We willen vanavond nog een oorlog ontketenen in Londen”, zo antwoordde de dader, die druipnat van het bloed was en het moordwapen nog in zijn hand had.
Volgens de 48-jarige gaf de man direct toe verantwoordelijk te zijn voor de aanval op de ,,Britse soldaat''. ,,Hij zei: Ik heb hem gedood omdat hij moslims heeft omgebracht. En ik heb genoeg van mensen die moslims doden in Afghanistan. Ze hebben daar niets te zoeken.''
Ingrid probeerde de man aan de praat te houden terwijl steeds meer omstanders zich rond de plek des onheils verzamelden. ,,Ik wilde hem bezighouden, om te voorkomen dat hij de mensen om hem heen zou opmerken.” In de wetenschap dat de scholen elk moment uit konden gaan en er ook kinderen langs konden lopen, probeerde ze ook de andere, eveneens gewapende dader aan de praat te houden.
Zowel op sociale media als in Britse kranten is er veel lof voor haar onverschrokken handelen. Ook burgemeester Boris Johnson heeft het optreden van Ingrid en haar medeomstanders geprezen.
