The world’s largest Lithium deposit (43-million-ton) beneath Saxony, Germany

UK-based Neptune Energy discovered a 43-million-ton lithium deposit beneath Saxony, Germany, in an area previously used for gas excavation.
The find, one of the world’s largest, could be worth over $1 trillion and power 800,000 electric vehicles, similar to Nevada’s McDermitt Caldera deposit.
The discovery enables Germany to end reliance on Chinese battery supplier CATL, which currently powers Mercedes, BMW Group, and Volkswagen Group EVs.
Neptune Energy CEO Andreas Scheck stated the deposit will “contribute significantly to the German and European supply market for the critical raw material lithium,” reshaping Europe’s EV battery future.
