China has launched its first domestically built 110-megawatt heavy-duty gas turbine, the Taihang 110 (AGT-110), marking a major step in clean energy technology.
Developed by the Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), the turbine can operate on multiple fuels, achieve high combined-cycle efficiency, and cut over 1 million tons of carbon emissions annually.
Producing 150,000 kilowatt-hours per hour, it powers up to 15,000 homes daily and supports integration with renewable resources.
With 102 patents secured, AECC also revealed progress in hydrogen-fueled turbine research, signaling future advances toward lower-emission power generation.
